Interpower containerised generating sets combine marine associated technology with industrial applications.
The set is mounted in a standard 20ft or 40ft ISO shipping container, which is fitted with hot air outlet and cold air inlet louvers and an exhaust system. The container is also fitted with internal lighting and personnel access doors.
To avoid transmission of vibration from the engine, the set is mounted on robust rubber anti-vibration mounts. Lubricating oil drain and fuel oil connections are brought out to the side of the container for easy access and maintenance.
Shown in the photo is an ISO 20ft container containing a 1250kVA Cummins KTA50G3, coupled to a Mecc Alte EC43 alternator. The set is sound attenuated to 85dBA @ 1m, and contains an auto-synch panel, 1000ltr bunded fuel tank, fuel separators, and an internal exhaust. Full specification available here.
